Reflexology Diploma Course
What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is the art and skill of applying pressure and / or massage to specific areas of
the feet called reflex points in order to affect health and vitality. These points
correspond to different parts of the body. Hence, by working on particular areas
you can have an effect on specific organs and systems in the body. Reflexology can
be used as a diagnostic tool alongside conventional medicine and as a therapy for
treating many common ailments.
Reflexology as a career
Reflexology is currently one of the most popular complementary therapies in the
UK with all age groups. It is increasingly used in hospitals, clinics, health and
complementary therapy centres, GP practices, hospices and residential centres. As
a qualified reflexologist you may choose to work in any of these areas. Reflexology
is also a very useful adjunct to other skills you may have such as nursing, midwifery
or other forms of care work. Some of our students who are nurses have used their
skills in their work with postoperative patients. Due to its portability, reflexology
is also being used in sports clinics and private companies as an aid to stress
management. The flexibility of Reflexology allows you to work part-time or full-time.
